EMPOWERING PEOPLE FOR LIFE & FIRE SAFETY

BE SAFE. ACT SAFE.
FEEL SAFE. IMPROVE.

How can we help people “Be Safe?”

We believe that technology, science, and innovation are key to creating safe environments for people. Get clear what “safe” means. Define metrics for safety success. Identify the root causes and solutions to fix. Invest in affordable and sustainable solutions.

What does it mean to “Act Safe?”

Safety solutions are not enough. People and organizations must adjust behaviors to follow safety standards. With the COVID pandemic, people should wear a mask, practice social distancing, avoid large gatherings, and limit time indoors in groups. With fire safety, know the escape route, call the fire department, and learn how to operate their fire extinguishers. Changing behaviors to act safe is challenging and requires significant, multi-faceted approaches to help people to be safe.

Why do people need to “Feel Safe?”

If people do not feel safe, they will be reluctant to return to work, will not send their children back to school, will not return to stores and will avoid restaurants. People will not feel safe if they see rusted or missing fire extinguishers in their building, or if a fire extinguisher is blocked behind a door. Poor safety in one area influences feelings in other areas. Understanding the underlying reasons for the concerns and acting to eliminate the causes leads to an improved culture of safety. Communicating, educating, and sharing data showing solutions are working are key.

What do you mean by “Improve?”

Complex problems require focused attention, continual monitoring and investment to achieve desired improvements. The Internet of Things, Predictive Analytics, Big Data, and other technologies make it easier to continually improve results.
